November 1st, 2008 |
10:00am to 3:00pm
Any Tu Nidito family
who has had a loved
one die is invited
to create a special
and meaningful connection
to their loved one
through the construction
of a Comfort Quilt.
The quilt will be composed
of your loved one’s
clothes or other fabrics
that belonged to them.
Some ideas include
sections of your loved
one’s favorite blanket,
prints from their favorite
t-shirt, pajamas, sports
jerseys, fabrics of
their favorite color,
or any other fabric
holding special meaning.
Small memorabilia may
also be added to the
quilt, such as booties,
shirt buttons, charms,
bracelets, and the
like.
All families will be
assigned an experienced
quilter who will collaborate
with them on their
wishes and assist them
in the creation of
the quilt. Family
members do not need
to have any previous
sewing experience to
attend.
Children are welcome
to attend. Tu Nidito
will have trained volunteers
on hand to keep them
engaged with games
and activities should
they lose interest
in quilting. Lunch
will be provided by
Tu Nidito. If
needed, families may
leave early once their
quilt is finished.
