27th El Tour de Tucson presented by University Medical Center & Diamond Ventures

Riders came out in full-force for the start of the 27th annual El Tour de Tucson, Saturday, November 21, 2009.

More than 8,000 cyclists participated in the 2009 El Tour, raising more than $200,000 for Tu Nidito Children and Family Services. For the children and families at Tu Nidito, El Tour is much more than a ride.

“El Tour is our livelihood,” said Executive Director Liz McCusker.
 
This year marked the second year of Tu Nidito’s Ride for a Child program giving cyclists the unique opportunity to ride for a Tu Nidito child. This year the Ride for a Child program had a total of 118 cyclists raising more than $101,000 for Tu Nidito.
